Introduction
500 companies, over 60,000 users, connected to an 92-hectare campus
ZonaGo is a mobile app specifically for the Zonamerica community, which is a sprawling technology park located in Montevideo, Uruguay. The goal was to enhance the day-to-day experience for everyone working and visiting the park by making it easier to move around, access buildings, and book workspaces.

Challenge
Navigating a large dynamic campus, one tap at a time

The Problem ⚙️
The existing bus system was slow and inflexible, making it hard for users to navigate the park efficiently.
Accessing office buildings required physical access cards, leading to delays and frustration, especially for visitors.
Booking offices and meeting rooms was a manual, time-consuming process with limited visibility of availability, which often caused scheduling conflicts.
The Solution 🧠
Create a more flexible and efficient way for users to move around the park by introducing electric scooters.
Replace physical access cards with a digital solution using QR codes, streamlining the entry process.
Simplify the booking process for offices and meeting rooms, providing real-time availability to reduce friction and save time.


Research
Zonamerica’s campus is really big
I started with a deep dive into user research. This included surveys, interviews, and observations, all focused on identifying pain points and opportunities for improvement.

Zonamerica is a large, and its sheer size made it difficult for people to get around efficiently. Despite having bus routes, users found them inconvenient due to limited schedules and fixed stops. On top of that, accessing buildings and finding available offices for meetings was a hassle, which disrupted productivity for employees and visitors alike.

Users wanted a faster, on-demand way to move around the park.
There was strong interest in using their phones for building access.
A more transparent and quicker system for booking rooms was highly requested.

Users were looking for a flexible, on-demand transportation option.
